Jeff Antoniuk
Antoniuk continues to be in demand as both an artist and educator. He was a featured performer and teaching artist for the Edmonton International Jazz Festival in 2008. He is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Maryland Summer Jazz, a top rated festival of workshops, jams and concerts. Located near the nation's capital, it includes a popular adult oriented jazz camp catering to gifted amateurs, semi-pros and jazz fans.
A dedicated and gifted educator, Jeff has worked for many years as a teaching artist with the Washington Performing Arts Society. He was on the ground floor in their latest endeavor, Capitol Jazz Project, in conjunction with Jazz at Lincoln Center and Wynton Marsalis. He is a busy adjudicator for numerous music education organizations and schools in the US and Canada.
With the Jazz Update and Groove Nation bands, he introduces Monk, Ellington and Coltrane to thousands of Washington, DC area students every year. He also serves on the faculty of the jazz department of Towson University near Baltimore. He teaches undergraduate and graduate jazz saxophone, and performs with the Towson Faculty Jazz Ensemble.
Antoniuk directs two regional educational programs for gifted amateurs and semi-pro jazz musicians and vocalists: Jazz Band Masterclass and InDepth Jazz Clinics.
Since 1986, he has primarily resided in the USA. He lives with his wife and son in Annapolis, Maryland.
