Message From the President

A Message from the President of the Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation:

This is it! We have a new website! And we are really proud to show it to you and tell you about our organization based in our beautiful Canmore, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Please take five minutes of your day to try all the buttons and learn about the Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation, as this could lead to some very interesting conversations amongst your group of friends! Being the president of the Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation has given me the chance to share and learn from so many devoted volunteers, and I could not be grateful enough for everybody’s help in running all these projects at once…

Being an umbrella organization for the arts in such a dynamic cultural community involves:

  • Providing networking resources between the different art groups in the Bow Valley
  • Providing the CMAF members with a periodical e-mail newsletter
  • Providing a complete Cultural Directory of all the artists, artisans and arts venues in Canmore (With the financial collaboration of the Town of Canmore)
  • Providing a good looking/easy to navigate (!) website for the public and the members
  • Providing a monthly Arts Calendar in a Local Newspaper (With the financial collaboration of the Town of Canmore)
  • Help promote some performing arts events with our Live on 7th producing team. And finally, ensuring a presence at the Canmore Economic Development Authority (CEDA) board to make sure that the Arts have their voice ‘economically’ in the Bow Valley

All these services are provided by our dedicated board members and volunteers and I invite you for a coffee anytime you would like to hear about us. I also encourage people to come to one of our meetings and see if you would like to apply some of your skills with us. The Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation has also created these three successful organizations and events: The Lamphouse Centre for the Arts Society, artsPeak – Canmore’s Annual Arts Festival, and the Vic Lewis Band Festival. Please look for them on our website to learn about their mission and activities.

Being part of the Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation should be a must for every artist and arts-lover in the Bow Valley, so please help spread the word about us by sending this website address to your friends and family!

With my best regards,

Pascale Ouellet

President, Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation 2007-2008.
