Arts Venues

Canmore has a variety of great venues for live music, drama, visual arts, film presentations, guest presenters, author readings, and more.

As we plan for the construction of a new “heart for the arts” – the community theatre and multi-purpose arts centre that will be the Lamphouse Centre for the Arts — here are a few venues to consider, should you wish to plan or attend a cultural event:

Canmore Miners’ Union Hall — Canmore’s historic downtown community hall, constructed in 1910, is ideal for functions of all kinds, from craft fairs to weddings to live concerts to art shows to private events.
Location: 738 7th Street, Canmore T1W 2C7

Creekside Hall & the Canmore Seniors’ Drop-in Centre — This is an excellent multi-purpose venue that can accommodate a variety of arts events and functions, and is extensively used for community events. The Creekside Hall has a stage and access to a lovely outdoor patio, with beautiful mountain views.

St. Michael’s Anglican Church Hall — St. Michael’s Church Hall is home to the community grand piano owned by the Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation, and is therefore an ideal venue for music concerts and recitals. The multi-function hall is available for rentals when not in use for church functions.

Stan Rogers Stage in Centennial Park — Canmore’s outdoor stage is the perfect venue for fine weather live music concerts, especially as it is located just two blocks off Canmore’s Main Street. As the home of the Canmore Heritage Day Folk Festival on the August long weekend, the stage is also available for rentals.
